Anali has grown her online presence to include multiple Instagram accounts, a growing Tiktok, a podcast, a blog, Twitter, YouTube…the list goes on! With a focus on lifestyle content and a twist of humor, she’s been a great asset for campaigns with brands like Zillow, Keurig, and David’s Bridal. She shared her insights on growing her platforms as a hispanic creator.
Q: What led you to become a creator?
I have always loved writing and storytelling ever since I can remember. I had a blog in college where I chronicled my dating life called Confessions of a Serial Dater. When I met my now husband in 2012, I stopped dating so I didn’t know what to write about. I launched my blog The Nueva Latina because I thought it would be neat to tell MY story of being a Latina living in the United States and chronicle my experiences. The rest is history.
Q: What is your favorite part of the content creation process?
I love that I can be creative in a lot of different ways with content creation. Whether it comes to video, writing, production, etc. I also love that I am constantly learning new things.
Q: You’ve really branched out into different platforms, tell us about how you use different channels for different purposes.
I love to create. Like I said before, I have loved storytelling my whole life. I started a few different accounts to express myself in all the aspects of my life where I feel creative. Music is probably my greatest passion so I started a music Instagram and TikTok to share my love for music and to have a place where that is the main subject.
Q: What’s the most difficult thing you’ve encountered or had to overcome in your journey of being a Creator?
Imposter syndrome? It’s funny because it comes and goes so often for me. Some days I feel invincible as a content creator and I feel suuuuper creative and ready to take on the world. Other days I feel like people don’t care what I have to say so why even post. But, at the end of the day I love what I do as a content creator and I wouldn’t give it up for anything.

Q: What has your experience been like as a hispanic creator? How does your heritage impact your channel?
At first when I started The Nueva Latina in 2012, it felt like no one cared or was even interested in my story or what I had to say. I also realize now that social media was still growing and content creation wasn’t what it is today, so I didn’t really know where to go to find other creators like me at that time. I love being Latina and of Mexican descent and sharing my stories with people who may not be Latinx or people who are but have different experiences.
Q: What’s one thing you would like people to know about the Latinx community?
We are all different. It’s easy to put all Latinx people in one box because we are all so similar, but ultimately we are all so different. We have different traditions, customs, sayings, slang words, etc. Being Latinx is beautiful because we are all so different too.
Q: What is one thing you think can be done – by brands or other creators or even followers – to better the efforts around diversity and inclusion on social media?
Remember that we are all on our own journey and all have different experiences. I have worked with brands before who wanted me to highlight certain things about being a Latinx that I, personally, never experienced. Just always remember that one Latinx creator is not going to be totally the same to another. Be willing to learn and accept that.
Q: In your opinion, how does sponsored content affect your channels and your followers?
I know people seeing “Latina” in my name has been met with some hesitation before from brands and people on the interwebs. But, lately, I feel like owning my Latinidad has really helped me grow my brand. Not only that, but also connect and be able to give back to my community in a way I never imagined.
Q: What drew you to working as a creator with Social Native?
Honestly, the brands Social Native is able to connect me to and pay for my content creation. That is what initially drew me to working as a creator with Social Native. What kept me going with SN was the mentorship and the way the staff seems to really care about the content creators and not just the brands.
Q: What was your favorite campaign that you have worked on with Social Native and why?
My favorite so far has been The Barrel Room campaign I did. I love wine and I love teaching people about wine and also learning about wine. Haha. I loved the campaign because it is something I truly enjoy. I think content comes out so much better when you truly love the subject you are covering.
Q: Has there been a moment in your career as a creator when you felt you made an impact?
I think I make an impact every day by just showing up. Growing up I didn’t see anyone who looked like me in the media unless I was watching Spanish-language television. Even then it would always be a maid or something like that. Now, with the evolution of social media and content creation, there is a little girl out there who sees me, who sees us, and feels included…SEEN. That is more than enough of an impact that I can make.
